Organic apple picking is back in 2025!

After two years marked by unpredictable weather, Château d’Astros is pleased to announce the reopening of its orchards to the public for the 2025 season. Starting on Friday, 5 September, young and old alike will once again be able to pick their own apples in an exceptional natural setting in the heart of Provence.

A harvest straight from the producer

Every autumn, the estate welcomes thousands of pickers to its 7 hectares of organic orchards, bathed in Provençal sunshine. Over the weeks, there are more than 12 varieties of apples to pick yourself: Golden, Granny Smith, Pinova, Reine des Reinettes, Reinette Grise du Canada…

The orchards are open to all, Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, until mid-October (depending on the weather and the progress of the harvest).

NEW FOR 2025 – Tuesdays reserved for learning about nature

This year, Château d’Astros is dedicating every Tuesday to schools and associations, offering them a special opportunity to learn about nature, fruit trees and biodiversity.

In a peaceful and safe environment, children and young people can learn about the cycles of nature, understand the challenges of organic farming, discover the richness of auxiliary fauna and learn simple techniques for responsible picking.

Committed agriculture

The Château d’Astros orchard has been certified organic since 2023 (Ecocert). Here, there are no preservatives or chemical treatments: the apples are grown in harmony with nature. Particular attention is paid to the health of the trees, the life of the soil and the promotion of local biodiversity. They must therefore be consumed quickly or processed at home (compotes, juices, pies, etc.).

A simple and friendly nature experience

Admission is free. Each visitor brings their own crates or baskets (available for purchase on site) and pays according to the weight of their harvest.
– Up to 10 kg: €2.50/kg
– From 10 to 49 kg: €2.20/kg

Picking is limited to 50 kg per household to ensure the quality of the harvest for everyone.
