The Château d’Astros estate covers 680 hectares, including 70 hectares of vines and 7 hectares of apple trees, located in Vidauban, in the Var, not far from Saint-Tropez. At the heart of this estate, Château d’Astros is exceptionally opening its doors this Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October as part of the Fascinant Week-End, a national event taking place from 17 to 20 October to promote wine tourism and celebrate wineries.
This is a not-to-be-missed visit for all lovers of heritage and and wine lovers.

19 OCTOBER – ASTROS, A CHÂTEAU LIFESTYLE

The annual visit to Château d’Astros takes place on 19 October. It’s a unique opportunity to discover this jewel of Provence.

Over the course of four exclusive tours, visitors will be able to explore the grounds, vineyard and this historic residence, made famous by the film ‘Le Château de Ma Château de Ma Mère’ by Yves Robert (1990), an adaptation of the novel by Marcel Pagnol’s novel.

In addition to its role in the film, the château remains a family home, still inhabited by Mr Maurel, whose ancestors have owned the estate since 1802. As a special treat, Mr Maurel invites you to delve into the fascinating history fascinating story of his grandfather, an art lover who had the château built in 1860, inspired by palatial palaces, and was the setting for sumptuous receptions in the 19th century.

Guided tour including the park, the cupola room and the impressive dining room. Only these rooms will be accessible in order to preserve the privacy of the owners. The tour ends with a tasting of organic wines on the château’s terrace (over 18s only; drink responsibly).

On Sunday 20 October, set off on an exotic adventure in a 4×4 and discover enchanting places, sources of legends, that will reveal to you the secrets of our land and our craftmanship. The guided tour will be followed by a commented tasting of 4 wines on the terrace of our boutique. (Over 18s only; drink responsibly)
